The Thirty Million Words Initiative develops and disseminates evidence-based, parent-directed programs that encourage parents to harness the power of their words to build their children’s brains and shape their futures.
Providence Talks proposes to intervene at a critically early age, from birth to age four, to close the 30 million word gap at a city-wide scale and ensure that every child in Providence enters a kindergarten classroom ready to achieve at extraordinary levels.
A city-wide coalition, “Worcester Reads”, grew out of the national “Campaign for Grade Level Reading”, and encourages parents and children to read 20 minutes a day, every day.
